On Tuesday, December 4, 2007 the Holiday Party and Elections were held at the office of Pat Ballard. The event was very well attended, ending the year on a high note. We are taking nominations for the 2008 Board. The Solo Practice Small Firm’s Section is a very active section and the board is a working board. We meet on the third wednesday of every month.
If you are interested in running for a position on the board or running as an officer, please contact Charles Allen, Guy Chappell or Fred Hilbers. You must be a current paid member of the section to be nominated. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday November 13, 2007. The elections will take place on December 4, 2007 at the Annual Holiday Party.
The 2007 Judge’s reception took place on Thursday October 25, 2007 at the Ballard Law Office. The event was held to honor our local judiciary. The reception was well attended with Judges from Jefferson County’s District and Circuit Civil Court, District and Circuit Criminal Court, Jefferson County’s Bessemer Division, and the U.S. Northern District, as well as Justice Woodall from the Alabama Supreme Court. Special thanks to Pat Ballard for opening his office to our section. We also thank Pat and Joe Spansy who donated wine for the event.
